Appalachian Peak Paradise - Massive Views, Hot Tub, Fire Pit

This “3 bedroom” is NOT three bedrooms. It is three sleeping areas. The one and only bedroom is on the main floor. The closet has no rod and the only place to put your things is in a cardboard “chest”. The loft has two beds, no place to hang or put your belongings. The lower level sleeping area is a room with a bed and no closet or windows. NC building code requires an egress from any sleeping area and lower bedroom only has the door you enter. Again, no place to put your things. House “sleeps 8” only if it is two per bed. There are no grab bars in bathrooms - a safety concern. The stairs are wood and from the top, you can’t tell one from the next (no visible edge). All of us slipped at least once. One of us was injured badly enough for EMS to send her to the trauma center at Mission Hospital in Ashville. The outside steps to the lower level have a broken stepping stone, and EMS slipped on that. Except for the loft, the rooms are cramped. Photos seem to have been taken with a wide-angle lens. We literally filled every open floor space with our coolers, duffels, suitcases, boxes, and gear. Piles of clothes were on the bedroom floors. No place to put anything - not even a hook on the wall. The living area has seating for five, the dining table has six chairs. This is the most disappointing and uncomfortable place I’ve stayed in. It may work for a couple with 2-3 kids, but when it’s unmarried adults, bring a cot and sleeping bag and keep your things in your car.

My family and I recently stayed at Appalachian Peak Paradise. It truly was a paradise. The cabin is new and everything was immaculate. The beds are also very comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and quiet mountain retreat!

Great cabin and was as advertised. Be ready for a trek up the mountain, but it is worth it. Just secluded enough and has wonderful views. Host was very responsive with any questions. Definitely would recommend.
